USSF Rule Changes.

As some of you are aware, the USSF (United States Soccer Federation), the highest governing body for soccer, has instituted a few major changes to youth soccer to take effect in the upcoming 2016 season.

The two main category changes that will impact all youth soccer clubs in the nation are the Age Group Adjustment, moving from the current academic year to a calendar year requirement, and the adjustment in the competitive format for the micro/mod players (U6-U12).

The new standards for the micro/mod (U6-U12) teams include changes to roster size, number of players on the field, size of field, offsides, etc. We will be educating our volunteer coaches and our in house referee staff on these new standards..

Here is a link that goes into more detail on why the changes are happening:

We will continue to update the website and FAQs as new questions arise. We recognize that changes like this can be difficult on our players, families and coaches. We have spent the last several months gathering feedback and input from other clubs, parents and coaches. We are focused on providing clarity wherever possible to help our members understand how the changes may impact their player in the coming year.

Registration for the SnVYSA 2016 recreation season will open on April 1st. Please visit www.snvysa.org to register.
